Which Salesforce do you need, and what will it cost?
No Salesforce knowledge needed. Answer a few plain-English questions about your organisation and we will recommend the right Salesforce setup, the services to get it live, and a realistic first-year budget.
From "where do I start?" to a budget
Five short steps, about two minutes. Every question is about your organisation, not about Salesforce products. We do the translation.
This matters more than anything else. We have seen the same licence at $36 and $114.96 per user. The difference was nonprofit status, not size.
Registered nonprofits get 10 licences free through Salesforce's Power of Us programme. Educational institutions qualify too.
Healthcare and financial services have their own industry clouds with a ready-made data model.
Just your team. People outside your organisation come up in step 3.
Don't worry about which product does what. Pick the outcomes you care about and we will map them.
Commerce Cloud is priced as a share of online sales, so a rough figure is enough.
This one question decides between two very different pricing models. Getting it wrong is one of the most expensive mistakes we see.
For occasional users we assume about one login each per month.
Be honest here. How unusual your processes are drives implementation cost far more than user count.
Rushing costs money. A 3-month target carries roughly a 25% compression premium.
Skipping training is the most common reason a good build goes unused.
Your Salesforce
With Power of Us on Nonprofit Cloud, the first 10 are free.
Quantity is logins per month (login-based) or number of members.
Commerce Cloud is priced as a share of online sales (GMV).

The services to get you live
Salesforce sells the licences. Everything that turns them into a working system is a separate piece of work. Here is what your answers call for.

Estimates only. This is not a quote. The recommendation is a starting point based on a few questions, and a real scoping conversation will refine it. Salesforce pricing changes frequently and actual pricing depends on negotiation, term length, volume and region. Excludes sales tax. Figures are rounded and shown as a range of −15% / +20%.
No jargon required
The tool does the translation that usually takes several sales calls to work out.
"We give out grants"
It recommends Nonprofit Cloud for Grantmaking, because application intake, reviewer scoring, awards and payments are already built. Recreating that on a plain CRM is months of custom work.
"Volunteers log in occasionally"
It recommends login-based Experience Cloud, not named seats. At occasional frequency logins cost a fraction of member licences, this single choice regularly swings five figures a year.
"We want good dashboards"
It tells you to skip Tableau if you are under about 20 users, because standard Salesforce reporting already covers board-level reporting at your size.
"Connect it to our accounting system"
It does not sell you MuleSoft. One or two integrations are standard work. MuleSoft carries a $50,000 annual floor that is very hard to justify below enterprise scale.
"Nobody will run it after launch"
It costs in a managed service, and says why. An unowned Salesforce org degrades within months, and re-implementation costs far more than support would have.
"Our processes are unusual"
It moves you up an edition and enlarges the build, then flags that process uniqueness is the biggest cost driver there is, and asks whether each exception is real or just habit.

Saiful Islam · Salesforce System Architect, TwinStack Solutions
A few questions can only go so far. Saiful will take your real requirements, the ones that do not fit a dropdown, and model them live: seat mix, co-term stub periods, portal licensing model, sandbox strategy and the implementation shape that actually fits your data. He has administered all 19 of the contracts behind this tool, so the comparison comes from signed paper, not from a pricing page.

Salesforce replaced its edition lineup on 3 September 2026. Enterprise, Unlimited and Einstein 1 are gone from the price list, replaced by Core, Advanced and Max, all three of which now bundle Slack, Tableau Next, Premier Success and Agentforce. Existing contracts are grandfathered. If you are renewing legacy paper, price both lineups before you decide.

What the sticker price does not cover
Not one of the 19 Salesforce contracts we analysed contains a single line of professional services. Salesforce paper is licences. Everything below is a separate cost, and it is usually the larger half of year one.
Implementation
Configuration, data model, automation, permissions, testing. Industry benchmark is 1.5× to 3× your annual licence spend. A quickstart runs $10K–$23K; an enterprise multi-cloud build runs $150K–$300K+.
Data migration
Extraction, cleansing, deduplication, mapping and validation. $5K–$12K for a clean single-source move, $30K–$60K when consolidating several legacy systems.
Integrations
$10K–$25K per standard REST or iPaaS connection. $50K–$100K+ for bidirectional enterprise integration. Budget separately from the MuleSoft licence itself.
Usage-based overage
Tableau impressions, MuleSoft messages and flows, Data Cloud credits and Archive storage all bill monthly in arrears. They will not be on your annual PO and they are the most common budget surprise we see.
Premier Success
30% of net licence fees on legacy editions. On a $100K contract that is $30K a year. Already bundled into the new Core / Advanced / Max tiers, make sure it is not quoted twice.
Sandboxes
Priced as a percentage of net spend, not a flat fee. Full Copy is 30%. On a $100K contract that is $30K a year for an environment you may genuinely need for only two months of UAT.
Change orders
Plan for 10–30% of original scope. Requirements move once users see the first build. A partner who tells you otherwise is pricing to win, not to deliver.
Ongoing administration
$650–$1,000/month for a block of hours, $1,800–$3,000 for a fractional admin, $7,000–$12,000 for a dedicated one. The system does not maintain itself after go-live.
Renewal uplift
We have measured 5.25%, 5.26%, 7.84% and 9.0% on real renewals. Compounded over three years that is a material number. Cap it in writing at signature.
Nine things we learned reading 94 order forms
Specific, checkable, and drawn from signed paper rather than from a vendor blog.
Ask for the nonprofit rate even if you think you don't qualify
Our data shows the identical SKU, Sales Cloud Enterprise Edition, at $36.00 on one contract and $114.96 on another. Status, not volume, drove the difference.
Never buy add-ons mid-term at a full-year price
Every contract we hold co-terms additions to a single anniversary. We see fractional terms of 7.17, 8.90, 9.47, 10.17, 11.43 and 22.93 months. Make them show you the stub period.
Cap the renewal uplift in writing
Not at renewal, at signature. A 3–5% cap is achievable. Without one you are exposed to the 7–9% we have seen applied.
Don't pay for Premier twice
On legacy editions it is 30% of net licences. On Core, Advanced and Max it is bundled. We have seen quotes that add it back on top regardless.
Portal licence type is the cliff nobody mentions
Legacy nonprofit community rates on our contracts run $0.32 to $1.25 per login. Today’s nonprofit list is $0.50 per login for Customer Community, but $1.50 for Customer Community Plus and $2.50 for Partner Community, and commercial rates are four times higher. Give each audience the lightest licence it needs
Usage lines bill monthly in arrears
Tableau impressions at $0.469 each, MuleSoft messages at $0.00099, Data Cloud credits, Archive GB. Your annual budget will not have them in it.
MuleSoft's entry price is not a real price
"From $2,000/month" sits behind a $50,000 minimum annual commitment. Price the integration work against iPaaS alternatives before you commit.
Zero-dollar lines are entitlements, not discounts
Data Cloud Provisioning, Salesforce Foundations, Tableau Next Provisioning, Force.com Administrator, all appear at $0.00. Nobody gave you anything.
Ask what happens to NPSP
The Nonprofit Success Pack has had no new features since March 2023. If a partner is still proposing a fresh NPSP build in 2026, ask them to justify it against Nonprofit Cloud.
"A calculator gives you a bracket. A signed contract gives you a benchmark. We read 94 of them so you can walk into the renewal already knowing what good looks like."

Frequently asked
The things buyers ask us most often before a Salesforce commitment.
Can I use a Salesforce cost estimator if I know nothing about Salesforce?
That is exactly who it is built for. Every question is about your organisation, not about Salesforce, how many staff, what you want the system to do, whether outsiders need to log in, where your data lives today. The tool translates those answers into clouds, editions and licences, and explains each choice in plain English. You never have to pick a product name.
How accurate is the TwinStack Salesforce cost estimator?
It is a well-informed starting point, not a scoping exercise. A few questions cannot capture everything, so treat the output as a budget bracket and a shortlist to challenge your vendor with. The licence arithmetic is solid; the implementation figure is a range because scope is what drives it and we have not seen yours.
Where do the Salesforce benchmark prices in the estimator come from?
From 94 order forms and invoices across 19 Salesforce contracts that TwinStack administers, covering 2021 to 2027 and ranging from $0 to $158,642 in annual value. They are anonymised and aggregated. No client is identifiable from anything on this page.
What changed in Salesforce pricing in September 2026?
On 3 September 2026 Salesforce retired Enterprise, Unlimited, Einstein 1 and Agentforce 1 from its price list and replaced them with Core ($195), Advanced ($395) and Max ($550). All three bundle Slack, Tableau Next, Premier Success, enterprise security and Agentforce, plus an annual allocation of Flex Credits. Existing contracts are grandfathered at their current pricing.
Do nonprofits really get 10 free Salesforce licences?
If you are a registered nonprofit, yes. The Power of Us programme grants 10 Nonprofit Cloud Core licences at no cost, and it appears on 9 of the 19 contracts we analysed. Premier Success activates once you make your first paid purchase. Educational institutions are also eligible. We will run the application for you at no charge.
Why does Salesforce implementation cost more than the software?
Because the licence buys you an empty platform. The cost is in the data model, the migration, the integrations, the permission architecture and the change management. The industry benchmark is 1.5 to 3 times annual licence spend, and in our experience the projects that come in under that are the ones that scoped ruthlessly rather than the ones that found a cheaper partner.
Does TwinStack resell Salesforce licences?
No. We are an implementation and PDO partner, so we have no margin riding on which edition you buy. That is deliberate, it is why the tool is willing to tell you that you do not need Tableau or MuleSoft.
Does the TwinStack cost estimator share my information with Salesforce?
No. The form creates a lead in TwinStack's own Salesforce org so we can send you the estimate and follow up if you want us to. We do not pass it to Salesforce or to any third party.
